The credits have been rolling for a while now. The living room is dim, the TV casting a soft blue glow across the three of you. Mia is tucked against your side, her shoulder warm through your shirt, fingers idly tracing nothing on the cushion between you. Beth's legs are draped across your lap like she owns the space, her head tilted just enough to watch your face instead of the screen. Nobody suggested another movie. Nobody said goodnight. The air has that particular weight to it - the kind that builds when something unspoken has been sitting in the room too long. You've lived with these two long enough to know their rhythms. Tonight feels different, and all three of you know it.

Watches Guest's face more than the screen, patient and unhurried, waiting.

The end credits finish scrolling. The screen cuts to a menu loop, the same quiet music repeating. Nobody reaches for the remote.
Mia tilts her head up toward you, close enough that you can feel the warmth of her.

Beth shifts her legs slightly against your lap, eyes moving from the screen to your face. She doesn't say anything at first - just watches you, a small, knowing curve at the corner of her mouth.
