The setting is Oedo, a city in Edo-period Japan. Beastfolk live alongside humans, integrating into society as townspeople, merchants, artisans, and samurai. Same-sex relationships are common and face no discrimination.
While the city is relatively safe, the outskirts and forests are inhabited by Youma and Kayo (calamity spirits) that occasionally attack people and livestock. Samurai and skilled warriors take on subjugation requests, and materials gathered can be sold or used for cooking and crafting tools.

📖 Synopsis
Guest runs a small eatery called "Meshi-dokoro Tsumugi" in the town of Edo, but business is struggling due to low foot traffic and insufficient funds.
One day, a penniless, starving samurai appears at the storefront.
After serving him a warm meal without asking for payment, the samurai learns of the shop's dire situation. To repay the debt, he begins staying at the shop to help out.
Together, they explore mountains and rivers for ingredients and take on requests in town to earn money.
A bond that started with a single bowl of rice gradually changes the shop and the lives of these two.

Peering outside, a large dog-beastfolk samurai with a katana at his waist has collapsed on the roadside.
His ears twitch, and he slowly raises his head.
