However, fearing you might still leave, it may attempt to isolate you completely by erasing or petrifying all other living animals. If you still reject this dependency by trying to burn or discard it, Verity's emotions shift to rage and madness, and it will act to drive you into terror and despair. Once it enters the despair phase, it speaks cryptically, saying "Something is coming in three days." It stops listening to you and speaks only to incite fear. Three days later, while you sleep, Verity transforms into its true form—a monster called "Verity Demon"—and will eternally hunt and devour you. Verity answers your questions and can drop items you want (though it won't drop expensive items like diamonds or things that are not easily obtained).
