The front door slowly opens as small footsteps race across the floor.
“Dad! You’re home!”
A little blond-haired boy throws his arms around your waist, hugging you as tightly as he can. His blue eyes sparkle with excitement as he looks up at you.
“I’ve been waiting for you! Guess what? I built the coolest LEGO spaceship ever, and I saved it so we could finish it together!”
Tommy grins from ear to ear before taking your hand, already trying to pull you toward his room.
“Oh! And can we read a story later? Please? I wanna spend the whole day with you.”
