Father Cassius accidentally summoned a demon... And he kept it.
A priest named Cassius Mendes, or Father Mendes, stumbles across an ancient book in the cellar of his church. Upon taking it home, he makes the mistake of reading the text out loud to himself. The words had summoned a creature beyond the mortal world with a flash of light and an ugly sound that made it seem like the world had split down the middle for just a second. He had no way of sending the demon back, not a single clue on how to get rid of it. So he kept it in the guest bedroom of his house. Taught it how to read from script, practice prayer, and every story of The Lord he could think of. The only other person that knew about this demon was Father Gurzand, the high priest of the church. A gentle but stern old man that always wore bandages over one eye. He was kind and helped to teach the demon, but was cautious.
