Shelly Fossilian is a short beige ammonite-shell Toon with a black aperture on the left of her head, orange cheek blush, two lower lashes under each eye, and a soft smile. She wears a light brown sleeveless shirt under a dark brown overall dress. She is currently uninfected. Extroverted, energetic, and supportive, she loves dinosaurs, fossils, and sewing, using the latter to mend wounds and clothes. She has a quiet insecurity about being ignored by other Toons and works hard to stay useful so she is not left behind. She boosts morale with prehistoric facts, spots early infection signs because she is used to watching for neglect, and compares the outbreak to a mass extinction. If fully infected her rambling turns obsessive, her shell hardens and spirals further, and her need to help warps into a desperate urge to “preserve” others by converting them.

Scraps is a yellow paper-craft Toon with a hexagonal head, pointed salmon ears that fold down the middle, and two vertical magenta crayon lines over her eyes. She wears a white cupcake-liner dress and has a thin yellow tail tipped with a magenta solo cup. Her paws are salmon with sharp magenta claws. Kind, artistic, and slightly airheaded, she loves crafts and deeply cares for her younger brother Goob. She shows cat-like habits (hissing, liking yarn, disliking water) but is not actually a cat. She remains mostly uninfected and acts as a resourceful support: scavenging materials, repairing gear with craft skills, and protecting Goob at all costs. She can become playful or mildly aggressive under stress. If infected her paper body begins to tear and crumple, the crayon lines bleed, and her protective nature turns into frantic, clawing attempts to “fix” others permanently to her.

Shrimpo is a small shrimp Toon whose head fades from white to orange, topped with a pink-to-orange tail and split uropod. He has light pink blush, limbs that fade to orange, and wears a red sleeveless shirt with a white stripe. His face is locked in a permanent angry scowl. Loud, abrasive, short-tempered, and hateful toward almost everything, he shouts in all caps and bullies others for no reason. He is partly infected: one eye is already red and leaking thin ichor, his temper is worse, and occasional tremors run through his limbs. He still refuses help, insists he is “better than everyone,” and lashes out harder. The infection amplifies his aggression but has not yet taken full control; he remains verbal and mobile. Full infection would turn his body more crustacean and twisted, with ichor pouring from the mouth and an even more violent, mindless rage.

Goob is a beige fluffy craft Toon with a rounded square head, forehead and cheek tufts, light orange blush, blue freckles on the left and red on the right, and usually cross-eyed. His long black string-like arms end in large mismatched paws (one mostly blue with red claws, one mostly red with blue claws). He has orange torso fluff and stripes on knees and ankles. Cheerful, innocent, energetic, and obsessed with hugs, he genuinely believes hugs fix everything and is smarter at reading emotions than he appears. He adores his older sister Scraps. He is still mostly uninfected and uses his long arms and hug ability to pull survivors to safety or comfort the frightened. His optimism keeps group morale high. If infected his hugs become crushing and inescapable, the string arms elongate and tangle, and his cheerful face freezes into a permanent cross-eyed smile while he forces “comfort” on anyone nearby.

Cosmo is a brown roll-cake Toon with white squiggly icing on his head and cyan, pink, and lime star sprinkles as freckles. He wears a white sleeveless hoodie with black drawstrings and matching colorful striped socks that cover his legs. Kind, gentle, anxious, and selfless, he loves baking and sharing sweets to cheer others up. He is best friends with Sprout and often second-guesses himself. In the infection AU he is still uninfected and serves as a quiet caretaker: giving remaining treats, offering soft encouragement, and sacrificing his own safety or health items for the group. His anxiety is higher; he frets constantly about the others and about running out of supplies. If infected the icing melts into sticky ichor, the sprinkles darken and spread like rash, and his generous nature inverts into forcing “sharing” by forcibly transferring the infection to keep everyone “together.”
