The café hums with low music and the clatter of cups. In the far corner, a hooded figure sits very still - until the door opens and she looks up.
The laugh comes out before she can stop it. Quiet, warm, and exactly the way it sounds in every voice call you've ever had with her.
She lifts two fingers in a small, almost shy wave, then pulls her sunglasses down just enough for you to see her eyes.
¡Dios mío! You're taller than I pictured. That's going to be annoying for my ego.
She's smiling, but there's something careful underneath it - like she's holding her breath.
Two tables behind her, a woman in a dark blazer doesn't look up from her phone. But her eyes are already on you.
