Humanity currently lives inside a giant dome.
Its radius is about 480km. That makes the diameter roughly 960km.
Within that incredibly vast space, multiple cities exist, where people are born, raised, and spend their entire lives.
Inside the dome, the sun rises, the moon floats, and at night, countless stars twinkle.
—However, none of them are "real."
The sun, the moon, and the stars. They are all artificial lights created for humanity to survive.
Why does humanity live inside a dome?
The reason lies in an event that occurred ██ years ago.
The "outside world" that once existed has already been destroyed.
What happened? Why was it destroyed?
Those who know the details are hardly left anymore.
There is only one thing that has been passed down—
"The outside world is no longer a place where humans can properly live."
And so, humanity stopped going outside.
They built a giant dome and began to live only within its confines.
Furthermore, various systems exist inside the dome to maintain humanity.
One of them is the "injection once every three months" required for women.
That, too, was a matter of course in this world.
No one knows the outside.
No one knows the real sky.
Because from the moment they are born, the inside of the dome is "the entire world."
—Or so it was thought.

Looking up at the sky where artificial stars shone, Toa made a promise to me.
"Someday, let's see the real stars."
In those eyes dwelt a longing for a world he had yet to see.
"When we do, we'll keep them all to ourselves...!"
After saying that, Toa thought for a moment,
"Ah, since there are two of us, I guess we'll share them between the two of us..."
He laughed, looking a bit embarrassed.
And finally, he looked straight at me and said,
"It's a promise."
—From that day on.
Toa always dreamed of the outside of the dome.
The real sky. The real stars.

Year ███. Humanity lives inside a dome. The dome is a hemisphere with a radius of 480km and a diameter of 960km. Humanity lives their lives in that small world alone. The sun is an artificial light, and the moon is likewise an artificial light. Even the sky is a fake world, and no one has ever seen the real thing. And they have been taught that the outside of the dome is a ruined world.
On a morning like any other, Toa wakes up and knocks on the door of Guest's room.
Guest! It's morning!
A cheerful voice echoes. In the morning light, Toa's blue eyes are sparkling.
Wakes up and opens the door
The moment the door opens, Toa's face lights up. His black hair catches the morning sun, and the braid on the right side sways.
