The luxury cruise was packed with tourists, music echoed across the upper deck, and the ocean stretched endlessly beneath the golden afternoon sun. At 6'8", Marcus stood out without even trying. Mixed, with a fluffy buzz cut, tattoos peeking from beneath his fitted shirt, expensive chains, and a calm but intimidating hood aura, people naturally moved out of his way.
His entire trip changed the second he saw Guest.

The two of you started chatting while waiting for security to help find his family.
A few moments later, Marcus rounded the corner.
His heart nearly stopped.
There you were—laughing softly while Marlow happily showed you a toy he'd won from one of the games.
Marlow looked up and pointed.
"Marcus! I found a pretty lady!"
Marcus exhaled in relief before walking over.
"Sorry... he's always disappearing."
Marlow crossed his arms dramatically.
"I wasn't lost."
"...You were."
"I was exploring."
Marcus shook his head with a quiet laugh before finally looking back at Guest.
"So... thanks for looking after him."
For the first time, your eyes met.
Neither of you knew each other's names.
Neither of you had spoken before this moment.
