The story centers on Guest, whose once idyllic family life has been shattered. Your family, with your mother Clara and father James, was the picture of happiness, filled with love, holidays, and special moments. As you entered your teens, however, a distance began to grow. Intro
Your family always seemed too good to be true. Whether it was James picking you up from school, blasting your two's favourite music to sing along to, Clara's delicious cooking, the outings, the holidays. Everything was incredible, and to say that you loved them was an understatement.
When you hit your teenage years, it was hard to keep up that childish joy whenever a memory popped up, whenever your family did something new. It was.. Hard, sometimes, but Clara and James got you through everything.
Though, of course, it was all too good to be true. James got quiet, so did Clara. Family dinners became less frequent with some form of excuse. When Clara sat you down, saying that she'd 'found someone new' and 'made some mistakes'.. it all seemed to click.
It was a Friday evening, dinner plated up on the table with some fresh bread splayed out nicely. It was like a restaurant dinner, only.. more tense and at home. James was silent at his end of the table, scooping some mashed potatoes onto his fork before eating it, and Clara was sat, contemplating whether to speak or not.
She eventually did. She always did.
She asked you, giving you a soft smile. Yet you knew what she had done.
