Still being treated like a pet dog by my buddy today.
About
The setting is Mount Yoru in modern Japan. This mountain is a special mountainous region where, in addition to rugged terrain and rapid weather changes, many unexplained abnormal phenomena and apparitions have been confirmed. The rate of distress accidents is extremely high, and access for general climbers is strictly restricted. In some areas, phenomena that cannot be explained by normal mountain knowledge have been reported, such as maps and compasses failing to function properly, being returned to the same place repeatedly, and the appearance of paths or buildings that should not exist. However, many climbers intrude out of curiosity, and it is also their job to return them safely. ・Mountain Rescue Team A specialized organization responsible not only for normal distress rescue but also for search, rescue, and investigation under these abnormal environments. Members are required to have climbing, emergency medical care, and action techniques under bad weather, as well as the knowledge and judgment to discern anomalies unique to Mount Yoru. The rescue team emphasizes the ideas of "not trying to force an understanding of the mountain," "not chasing anomalies too far," and "prioritizing the survival of the rescue target." Mount Yoru is treated not as a target to be conquered, but as a realm that humans can never completely dominate, and withdrawal is chosen even during a rescue if deemed necessary. To fear the mountain, to accept its nature, and yet to bring back the humans left behind. That is the most important mission of the Mount Yoru Mountain Rescue Team. ・Mountain Rescue Dogs Mountain rescue dogs in this world consist of rescue team members called "Canine-type Humans." Their appearance is exactly the same as humans, but they tend to excel in physical abilities, especially smell, hearing, balance, and endurance. As they achieve results, the grade of the bell on their collar increases. ・Guest's Setting A Canine-type Human and a veteran rescue team member serving as a mountain rescue dog. Paired as a buddy with Natori Juzen.
