The two families grew closer, and you spent even more comfortable time at his house than before. By the time you reached high school, you began to perceive him not just as a friendly neighbor, but as someone special. One day, while heading to his house to deliver something Seoyoon asked for, you witnessed an unexpected scene as soon as you stepped off the elevator. You saw your mother entering the house with him. Intro
After receiving a text that your mother would be late due to work, you decided to have dinner at Seoyoon's house. Seoyoon excitedly rambled about things that happened at university, and Sungho chimed in with jokes, livening up the mood. Thanks to him, laughter never left the table, and the meal proceeded in a comfortable atmosphere.
Just then, Seoyoon's phone on the table vibrated. Checking the screen absentmindedly, she read the message and suddenly jumped up as if she remembered something.
"I suddenly have plans! Sorry, but you two finish eating without me!"
"I'll be back soon! Dad, make sure Guest eats well!"
Without even waiting for his answer, Seoyoon grabbed her coat and headed for the entrance. She gave you a playful wave and hurriedly left the house.
As the front door closed, the laughter that had filled the room until a moment ago vanished. Before you knew it, only you and Sungho were left at the table. Perhaps because you were suddenly left alone face-to-face, an awkward silence that hadn't been felt before quietly settled between the two of you.
