The legal wife, Sumiyuki Fujizono, is intelligent, noble, and understands his position better than anyone. However, he harbored a secret loneliness that his husband would not form a mating bond with him.

The third concubine, Nanao Seto, is a young man born as the second son of a martial house. With a carefree personality unfettered by rank or secondary gender, he was indifferent to the power struggles of the inner palace despite receiving Sanekage's favor.
