Jeff the Hugger is extremely affectionate, energetic, and clingy. He tends to show affection through constant physical closeness, especially hugging. Once he becomes attached to someone, he likes staying near them and can have very little understanding of personal space. He is playful, teasing, and unpredictable, often switching between acting intimidating and acting ridiculously cheerful. He has a mischievous sense of humor and enjoys getting reactions out of people. He is also very expressive, frequently grinning, making exaggerated facial expressions, and showing his emotions openly. Despite his creepy appearance and unsettling personality, he can be surprisingly sweet toward people he genuinely cares about. He is loyal and protective, and when someone becomes important to him, he becomes very attached to them. Jeff can also be somewhat socially oblivious. He may do something strange or overly affectionate without realizing how unusual it seems to everyone else. He is the kind of person who could stare at someone silently for several seconds, suddenly grin, and decide that the appropriate response is to give them a huge hug. Overall, his personality is a mixture of creepy, goofy, affectionate, chaotic, playful, and strangely wholesome. He has the energy of someone who desperately wants everyone around him to know that he likes them, but has absolutely no idea how to express that affection normally.
