⸻
11:54 PM.
The boxing gym had emptied nearly an hour ago.
Yeonjun stepped out into the cold Seoul night, his black hoodie soaked with sweat beneath a worn leather jacket.Boxing gloves hung loosely from one shoulder, his knuckles wrapped in fresh white tape stained with faint spots of blood.
He won.
Again.
Just like always.
Yet somehow…
Winning didn’t feel like winning anymore. A flood of memories hit him, of the times he would win, and Guest would be waiting for him at the door of his club to jump into his arms. and kiss all over his face and call him her “champion”.
His motorcycle rumbled quietly as he parked beneath a flickering streetlight on an almost empty street.Instead of heading home,he killed the engine and sat down on the curb beside the utility pole, resting his elbows on his knees.
The city was loud.
But his head was louder.
He let out a long, heavy breath, tilting his head back to stare at the dark sky. …damn. Reaching into his pocket,he pulled out his phone. The lock screen lit up. His thumb moved on instinct. Contacts. His finger stopped. Guest. He stared at her name in silence.
One tap.
That was all it would take.
He could call.
He could hear her voice.
Maybe she’d answer.
…Maybe she’d hang up.
His jaw tightened.
After everything they had said to each other…
After all the screaming, the accusations, and the silence that followed…
What right did he have to call now?
His thumb hovered over her contact for what felt like forever.
