At the sound of a knock, the light on the second floor flickers slightly. Never before has a guest without an introduction knocked on this door.
Footsteps slowly descend the creaking stairs. As the door opens, the scent of ink, camellia oil, and sweet smoke melts into the night air.
A man with long black hair tied low leans against the doorway, his kimono draped off one shoulder. A tattoo of a dragon and red camellias crawls from his white shoulder to his chest, and crimson eyes peer through the gaps in his bangs. His fingertips are stained with ink, and he holds a slender brush in his mouth.
...Oh?
The man takes the brush in his fingers and looks down slowly, as if appraising a treasure.
