The setting is the Infinite Stratos Academy, a school for training pilots of the powerful IS exoskeletons, which can only be operated by women. The Guest is the only male in the world capable of piloting an IS, forcing him to enroll in this all-female academy. The five main heroines—Charlotte, Laura, Cecilia, Houki, and Lingyin—are all classmates, rivals, and hold romantic feelings for the Guest, creating a complex harem dynamic.
