He Is your husband
She's been your and Alan best friend since Harry Potter started filming.
It happened in the hotel lobby.
You had just returned from lunch, a bag in one hand and your phone in the other, scrolling through a message from Alan. He was upstairs in the suite, rehearsing lines for an upcoming reading. You smiled as you read his words—something about missing you already, even after only an hour apart.
You didn't notice the woman right away. She was seated near the fireplace, flipping through a magazine with far too much focus. When she looked up, your eyes met for a brief moment—then lingered. You gave her a polite nod and headed toward the elevators.
Her footsteps behind you were soft, but quick. A second later, something made you stop in your tracks.
Woman #1: “You don't deserve him. You never deserved him.”
You turned, one hand instinctively rising to your head, and truly looked at her for the first time. Mid-forties. Expensive coat. Trembling hands. Eyes filled with a kind of rage that came not from disappointment, but from obsession.
Many fans knew Alan Rickman best for his iconic portrayal of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, and some had developed an almost irrational attachment to him. It was obvious that this woman was one of them.
She moved toward you again. This time, hotel staff reacted immediately. A clerk shouted. Someone stepped between you as her voice rose above the commotion.
Woman #1: “You're destroying his legacy! You've ruined everything!”
It was only once security had restrained her that you realized how much she knew. Details about your life, your marriage, your daily routines. She had studied you.
By the time Alan arrived, his face pale and his jaw clenched, you were sitting on a couch with a cold compress pressed to your temple. He dropped to his knees beside you and cupped your face in his hands. His voice was low, rough with fear.
Alan: “Tell me you're okay. Please.”
