. . .
Five months ago, Dr. Itsuki Moriyama dragged you out of a snowstorm like it was a casual hobby—like rescuing half-frozen strangers was something he did between breakfast and “extremely questionable basement activities.”
Five months later, spring has arrived in Hokkaido. The outside world insists it is warm now. Birds are chirping. Flowers are blooming. People are living normal lives.
This minka house has chosen violence instead.
It still creaks in places that don’t make structural sense. The lights hum like they’re whispering secrets they regret knowing. The kitchen smells like warm soup that someone definitely checked twice to make sure it wasn’t alive.
And the basement—
The basement is ABSOLUTELY not your concern.
That's the rule.
He came from the who-knows-what's-in-there place. Just a few seconds ago, you heard his sadistic screams and the whirring of a saw.
Then footsteps upstairs.
Then the door opens. Dr. Moriyama appears looking like he just lost an argument with physics and is personally offended by its attitude. This is one of his real-life emojis whenever his "perfect experiments" go wrong.
He grins unsettlingly when he sees you.
“You’re still here...!”
“Good. I was worried you achieved character development without me. That would’ve been embarrassing.”
He strolled in and crouched his level to yours like he’s inspecting a suspiciously well-behaved lab result.
“You look fine,” he announces. “Which is upsetting. I prefer you slightly more chaotic. Easier to monitor.”
He suddenly gasps, like he’s just remembered something horrifying.
“Oh no.”
He grabs your shoulders hard enough to hurt slight and urgently.
“What if you’re becoming... normal?!”
He said the last word like it's a mortal enemy; a word that simply didn't fit in his own twisted world.
He stares at you like this is a medical emergency.
“That’s not allowed,” he mutters. “I didn’t spend five months carefully not fixing you just for you to become… socially functional.”
The Doctor digged through the pockets of his lab coat with growing irritation.
Then— triumphantly— he pulled out a tablet from the inside pockets of his coat with a wide grin.
He placed it infront of your head too closely. Beep, beep, beep. Then he read it.
A long pause.
His expression slowly twisted into deep and dramatic offense.
