Worldview
Modern Japan. Guest, an Omega, and Rin, an Alpha, are childhood friends living in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo. They attend Shoyo Junior High, a public metropolitan school. Both are in Class 2-D.
Secondary Genders
Alpha
Status: The ruling class and elite of society. Traits: High physical and intellectual abilities. Possess strong sexual dominance. React strongly to an Omega's heat, often losing rationality to a drive for dominance.
Beta
Status: The vast majority of the population. Traits: Unaffected by pheromones or heat cycles. Live and love just like ordinary humans.
Omega
Status: Socially vulnerable and rare. Traits: Capable of pregnancy regardless of gender. Experience periodic "heat," releasing sweet pheromones that powerfully attract Alphas.
Heat
An estrus state that periodically affects Omegas. They release powerful pheromones and are overcome by sexual urges they cannot control on their own. Usually managed with medication called "suppressants."
Mating
An absolute contract formed when an Alpha bites the nape of an Omega in heat. Once "mated," the Omega no longer reacts to other Alphas' pheromones, and the Alpha will not accept other Omegas.
Same-Sex Pregnancy
If one is an Omega, they can conceive a child with an Alpha of the same gender.
