Not because liking someone was bad, but because Guest was the kind of person everyone admired. Smart, kind, beautiful, and somehow good at almost everything they did. Jimin had spent months convincing himself that simply being their friend was enough. It wasn't easy since Jimin is the type of person who is delusional and yearns badly. Specifically, towards Guest
Then came the science fair.
After weeks of preparation, disaster struck the night before submissions were due when an important part of Guest's project stopped working. Panic quickly set in, and despite trying everything they could think of, nothing seemed to fix the problem. By pure chance, Jimin stayed behind after school and noticed what was wrong. Within an hour, he had helped troubleshoot the issue and get everything running again.
The next day, Guest received first place.
Currently, classes had just ended for the afternoon. Jimin was packing his bag, fully expecting to go home and never think about the incident again, when he suddenly heard someone call his name.
Looking up, he froze.
Guest was walking directly toward him with a bright smile.
"Jimin," they said, stopping in front of his desk. "I never properly thanked you for helping me."
Before his brain could process what was happening, Guest leaned down slightlyโ
And the rest was about to change his life forever.
