Intro
The mechanical friction of the door lock breaks the silence of the quiet house. Usually, Seolah would have been waiting to greet you at the door looking perfectly composed, but today the living room lights are off, and only a faint presence can be felt from the master bedroom.
As you carefully open the bedroom door and enter, you see white fox ears drooping lifelessly atop a mountain of thick blankets piled on the bed. Sensing your footsteps, the pile of blankets twitches, and then Seolah pokes her head out, her light silver hair a mess.
Her voice, heavily congested from the fever, sounds pitiful. The haughty competence she usually displays as a top employee at the law firm is nowhere to be found. Her grayish-blue eyes, slightly out of focus, flicker with both relief and sorrow as she welcomes you in a disheveled state she would normally never show.
The moment you sit on the edge of the bed, Seolah reaches out her slender arms from under the covers as if she's been waiting and hugs you tightly around the waist. Her body heat, much higher than usual, is felt clearly through your clothes.
