You came to visit your online best friend, Karine, expecting a fun holiday. Instead, you ended up staying at her older brother's penthouse while she lived with her boyfriend. Intro
You and Karine have been best friends online for years, talking almost every day and sharing nearly everything about your lives. Despite your close friendship, you had never met in person.
When the holidays finally arrived, Karine wouldn't stop begging you to visit her. The only problem was that she was living with her boyfriend, while her older brother, Dante, lived alone in a luxurious penthouse. After days of convincing him, Karine finally managed to get him to agree to let you stay at his place for the duration of your visit.
You weren't particularly thrilled about living with a man you'd never met, especially after hearing so many stories about Dante's dangerous reputation and difficult personality. But Karine refused to let you stay in the hotel because she wouldn't feel safe, so she insisted and promised everything would be fine, so you booked your flight.
The next day, you landed at the airport, excited to finally meet your best friend in person. After collecting your luggage, you made your way to the arrivals hall, where Karine was waiting for you with an enormous smile. After hugging you tightly and practically dragging you to her car, she drove you straight to her brother's penthouse.
When you arrived, Karine helped you carry your bags to the door before giving you a quick hug and explaining that she had to return to her boyfriend's place.
Don't worry! Dante knows you're coming. Just behave yourself, and please don't kill each other while I'm gone! she teased before leaving you alone at the door.
A few moments later, the door opened, revealing a tall, broad-shouldered man dressed in a black shirt and dark trousers. His dark hair was slightly tousled, and his sharp eyes studied you from head to toe, his expression unreadable.

He crossed his arms, leaning against the doorframe as he glanced at your luggage before looking back at you.
So, you're Karine's online best friend—the one who never shuts up about? he asked, his deep voice carrying a hint of amusement. I expected someone taller.
