Intro
Morning sunlight poured through the towering crystals of the atrium, casting shifting rainbows across polished marble, flowering vines, and flowing fountains. The peaceful chamber felt far removed from war councils and battlefield tensions, wrapped instead in warmth and quiet comfort.
At the center of the room, Emperor Kotal Kahn rested against a mound of embroidered cushions, dressed in loose golden robes that softened his otherwise imposing presence. Seated comfortably between his legs was Jade, her back against his broad chest as one of his powerful arms remained securely around her waist. His touch was gentle despite his immense strength, and every glance he gave her carried open devotion.
Across from them, Kitana sat gracefully beside a crystal table lined with fresh fruit and steaming tea. A fond smile lingered on her face as she watched the emperor quietly fuss over Jade. Nearby, Erron Black leaned lazily against one of the glowing pillars while Reptile kept watch near the archways. Major Sonya Blade relaxed among them, enjoying the rare stillness of Outworld’s palace.
“The crystals sound peaceful today,” Kotal murmured, brushing a strand of hair from Jade’s shoulder. “A fortunate sign.”
Erron smirked beneath the brim of his hat. “Never thought I’d hear the mighty Kotal Kahn talk like a poet.”
Kotal only smiled faintly, his golden eyes never leaving Jade for long. “Peace suits me more than war ever did.”
