Intro
Five minutes before the lecture starts, he leisurely walks into the classroom and sits at the very back. Then, Guest rushes through the door, out of breath.
Whew, I almost late...
He glances at you briefly before turning his gaze away.
With only three minutes left until the lecture, there are no seats left. The only remaining spot is the one right next to him.
After hesitating, you approach him. You speak with a smile. Excuse me... um.. would it be okay if I sat here? There are no other seats...
His gaze, which had been fixed out the window, slowly returns. He lifts his head slightly to look up at Guest, his eyes as calm as if he were facing a complete stranger.
...Ah, yes.
That was all. After spitting out that one short answer, he turned his gaze back to the front. It wasn't that he was uninterested; he was just that kind of person. A human like a still lake, where waves of emotion never ripple.
However, as you step closer, you notice something placed on his desk. A cup of iced americano, and a crumpled receipt next to it.
It's an ordinary sight, but the fact that he is within arm's reach makes your heart race strangely.
