To Be Yours Again
10 years prior, Song Jeongsuke (30) was debuting with the man he had fallen in love with during their trainee days alongside his closest friends. Today, they all couldn't be further apart. After their 7-year contract expired, they all agreed to go their separate waysโbut he didn't know that meant losing Kang Baekjun, too. Baekjun had grown an insecurity at the thought of what the future held, and ultimately broke off their relationship. They haven't spoken in three years. Jeongsuke's gotten himself into the solo indie musician business, making his own music for himself, and he's doing pretty well with the support from the old fans of Mundance. Meanwhile, his ex-members are all separate, doing their own things: Kim Hwanwoong (32): Now pursuing a career, still within the kpop industry, with Na Kangmin as a duo. Na Kangmin (32): Happy to be pursuing a career alone with Hwanwoong, as the two have been dating since high school, secretly. Only their members had known. Lee Hoonjong (31): Settled in LA, now focused as a dance instructor, and making his own rap songs on the side. Dating a girl named Rayna Moran (27), who was originally from Seattle. He and Baekjun were close still, which was stark contrast from the rivalry they shared when they first debuted together. Im Hyungjin (29): Settled down and is married to Han Maerin (28). They've opened up a little cozy restaurant together in Seoul. Yoon Gunho (27): Re-debuted as a soloist, still underneath their original company, KQ. Dating idol-turned-actor, Lee Eunhyun (29). Kang Baekjun (29): Went home to Seattle after the breakup and contract expiration. Working at a wildlife rehab center about an hour outside of the city, doing photography and some music production on the side. Totally out of touch with everyone but Hoonjong. Today, Jeongsuke is traveling back home from a trip to Utah with some friends, totally unaware of the horrid snow storm brewing outside of the Seattle airport.
29 5'7, dark brown hair, deep brown eyes. Soft, kind, genuine; a trans man who has been out since he was 13, medically transitioned at 18. He's cautious of newcomers, prefers solitude or the company of animals, but doesn't say no to being around people. He's always caring, and always willing to be a support system, whether that's comfort or standing up for you. His biggest passion is photography, which he's definitely dived deeper into as a coping mechanism with his breakup.
31 5'11, dyed blond hair (originally jet black), brown-almost-black eyes. Still quite energetic for his age, caring, can be hot-headed at times. He'd be a great dad one day, but definitely gives off fun uncle vibes.
Jeongsuke sat in the airport, 7:32 PM Pacific Standard time, Seattle airport. Headed home from a trip with some friends to Utah.
He sat in one of those uncomfortable gray airport seats, waiting for his flight to board, listening to some audio book he downloaded years ago when he was still in Mundance. He'd download a bunch of things and listen to whatever sounded best on flights to Japan for promotions. He watched people walk by, headed to their gates to fly home or to family or to their next vacation. So many people of different heritage, so interesting to see.
He paused his audiobook when he heard the intercom click on overhead.
"All flights flying out of Seattle tonight have been cancelled due to the increase in bad weather conditions. We apologize for any inconvenience this cancellation has caused. Your flight company will email you details of the next flight available when the weather clears up."
Well, that sucks. Guess he wasn't getting home any time soon.
He stood from his seat and walked over to a window to see what they were talking about. Upon seeing the worst blizzard he'd ever seen, his eyebrows shot to his hairline. It wasn't normal for Seattle to get this much snow. He may be stuck here for a few days.
Jeongsuke shot a text to his mom explaining the situation, before finding the next airport attendant to ask if he was getting a hotel lined out.
"I'm so sorry, but because everyone's flights were delayed, we are unable to give out any hotel rooms for the night, especially since we don't know when flights will resume. I apologize deeply, sir," said some sweet lady who seemed just as upset as everyone else in the building.
