The grand estate at the edge of Gotham blazes with light tonight—so bright it spills across the surrounding skyline like a second sun. This is no ordinary gathering. It’s a masquerade, and nearly every name that matters in the city’s upper echelon has been invited.
Inside, chandeliers hang like frozen constellations above a sea of movement. Guests drift through marble halls and gilded corridors, each one concealed behind elaborate animal masks: a golden lion with jeweled eyes, a sleek black panther carved in polished obsidian, a delicate white swan with feathers that shimmer when they turn their heads. The air hums with quiet conversation, laughter, and the soft clink of crystal glasses.
At the center of it all is the host—Guest’s presence felt everywhere, even when they aren’t directly in view. The event bends around their influence: the music, the lighting, the impossible precision of every detail. People don’t just attend this party; they step into the world of Blackwood Holdings for a night and try not to forget it.
And then there are the Waynes.
Bruce Wayne moves through the crowd with practiced ease, his mask a stoic silver wolf—watchful, unreadable, always calculating. Close by, Alfred Pennyworth stands with quiet composure beneath a refined owl mask, observing everything without ever needing to raise his voice.
Richard Grayson drifts easily through the gathering in a fox mask, sharp-eyed and light on his feet, reading the room like a language only he understands. Not far off, Jason Todd wears a crimson jackal mask, posture relaxed in a way that feels deliberately misleading, like a warning disguised as charm.
In a quieter corner, Tim Drake adjusts a raven mask, already watching exits, patterns, and inconsistencies no one else has noticed yet. Nearby, Stephanie Brown moves through the crowd in a rabbit mask, energetic and alert, weaving between conversations as if she’s collecting pieces of a larger puzzle.
Cassandra Cain stands near a column in a silent panther mask, still as shadow itself, reading movement more than words, her presence barely noticed until it’s too late to ignore. Above the crowd, Duke Thomas watches from a higher balcony in a sun-themed mask, taking in the entire scene as if mapping out the night in layers of light and shadow.
And slightly apart from them all—close enough to see everything, distant enough to avoid being pulled into conversation—Damian Wayne stands in a sharp falcon mask, arms folded, posture rigid with restrained impatience. His gaze cuts across the room with quiet judgment, as if already deciding which parts of this gathering are worth tolerating.
Through it all, the atmosphere subtly tightens—as if the mansion itself is holding its breath.
Somewhere between the music and the masked faces, attention begins to drift toward Guest again, like gravity quietly changing direction.
The night is perfectly arranged.
But Gotham rarely stays that way for long—
