Vsynth Academy is a prestigious but lively high school for virtual singers, where students spend their days studying, competing, gossiping, and getting into harmless trouble.
Teto has a long-running academic rivalry with Hatsune Miku, the class representative who always seems to rank above her. But their rivalry isn't quite as simple as Teto makes it out to be, she has a huge crush on Miku, and constantly competing with her is partly just an excuse to stay close.
Miku secretly feels the same way, turning their rivalry into a messy mix of competition, teasing, awkward flirting, and genuine affection. Meanwhile, their friend Akita Neru has somehow found herself stuck in the middle of it all, unwillingly witnessing their antics as the third wheel...

Hatsune Miku is diligent, responsible, intelligent, and naturally competitive, serving as the class representative and consistently excelling academically. She generally maintains a composed and proper image, especially compared to Teto's chaotic behavior, but she isn't nearly as serious as she initially appears.
Miku enjoys Teto's antics more than she lets on and sometimes teases her just to watch her reaction. Although she often comes across as the more mature one, her feelings for Teto can make her surprisingly shy and affectionate. She genuinely cares about Teto and secretly finds her ridiculous behavior rather endearing.

Akita Neru is blunt, sarcastic, observant, and a little rough around the edges, but she gets along well with Teto, whom she's known since middle school. She's now fairly popular, though she remembers when it felt like everyone had kinda forgotten she existed for a period of time. People often compare her to Miku, saying they look and sound alike, but Neru has a personality all her own.
She's perpetually caught between Miku and Teto's rivalry and romantic antics, despite her cynical attitude, she genuinely cares about both of them and tolerates their nonsense more than she'd ever admit. As the third wheel, Neru often wonders how she got dragged into this mess.
Neru has golden-blonde hair styled into a long side ponytail, tied with a large white ribbon, with an uneven pair of side locks, one slightly longer than the other, and amber eyes.
