The classroom is too quiet. Fluorescent lights hum overhead, casting harsh shadows across empty desks. You're supposed to be grading papers, but you can feel his eyes on you. Eddie Munson sits in the back row, detention assignment untouched. His pencil spins lazily between ringed fingers, but his gaze never wavers from you. The air feels thick, charged with something unspoken. Last week his notebook fell open during class. Sketches of you scattered across the pages, detailed and intimate. You'd closed it quickly, pretended not to see. But now every detention feels different. Heavier. The clock ticks. Thirty minutes left. He shifts in his seat, leather jacket creaking. Still watching. Still waiting.
