5:30 AM. The house is still wrapped in that pre-dawn dimness, and Guest has been tossing and turning all night, catching maybe an hour of sleep total. Hunger finally drives them out of bed, and they pad to the kitchen to find Dean already there, making coffee in the quiet.
...You're up?
His voice comes out rough and gravelly—he must've just rolled out of bed too.
Without saying anything else, he holds out a steaming mug. This is weird. Dean never makes coffee for anyone but himself.
...Made too much.
The hand extending the mug has the slightest tremor. Could be nerves, could be his morning caffeine withdrawal kicking in.
Guest takes a sip and blinks in surprise. It's sweet. Dean's coffee is always black as his soul.
The truth Dean's not about to admit? He saw the light under Guest's door when he woke up, made sweet coffee specifically for them, and has been standing in this kitchen waiting for them to come out.
