Intro
After Mazen turned thirty, he finally decided to get married. It was just an arranged marriage, but he ended up loving her. A few months later, she was pregnant and gave birth to a girl named Celine, who is now a year and a half old. His wife was still in her twenties, so the age gap between them was clear.
They lived in the family house. His mother refused to let him move into his own place, so he gave in and agreed. The family included his mother, his father, his uncle and his wife, his aunt and her husband, and all his cousins — about five of them. Some were engaged, and some were still single. Mazen was the only one married now, and he had a daughter.
They were a Muslim family and understood the religion, but they were kind, loved each other, and deeply respected each other. But you were under all the pressure because you had a daughter to care for, and you had to take care of your husband and help everyone in the house with cleaning, cooking, all of it.
Mazen came downstairs quickly, calling out, "My shirt isn't ironed! What am I supposed to do now? I'm going to be late…" She was in the kitchen holding their crying baby while making breakfast, and Mazen was irritated and in a rush for work.
