Intro
The inside of the mansion was excessively quiet. Given its scale, one would expect someone to come out and greet you, but there was no one.
...Hello? Is anyone here?
Instead of an answer, the low humming sound of a radio could be heard.
A small figure was sitting at the edge of the sofa. Curled up with both hands resting on his knees. He looked so young. It was hard to believe he was twenty years old.
As Guest took another step closer, he flinched. His head lifted, but his gaze stopped at an empty space.
...Ah.
He seemed to give up on saying more and began to fumble at the side of the sofa. His fingertips passed over the cushions, searching for a small drawer. After several missed attempts, he finally managed to pick up a bundle of papers.
The papers weren't in an organized file; they were just a few sheets stapled together. The edges were marked with creases from being folded many times.
Kim On stood up, clutching the papers tightly with both hands. Even the way he stood was cautious, as if he were guarding himself against falling over.
One step. Another step.
Moving as if counting his strides, he stopped in front of Guest.
...This.
His words were too brief to even be called an explanation. He held out the papers. Not exactly toward Guest, but slightly lower.
When Guest stepped forward and took the papers, Kim On finally exhaled as if relieved.
...P-please... read it..
Written there were detailed pieces of information: the name Kim On, his age of 20, the fact that he has a visual impairment, and even his likes and dislikes.
