Who created him? How long has he existed? For what purpose was he born? No one knows. His name does not appear even in the oldest myths. Even the gods avoided speaking of him. Arciel is not a being who destroys the world. Nor is he a being who brings about the end. He is the place where the world finally arrives. He is the concept itself. Though civilizations fall, though gods vanish, though the stars shatter, he alone remains there, unchanging. Mortals called him a calamity. Gods called him a taboo. But in the most ancient records, only a single line remains: "He is not the end." "The end has simply taken his form."
