In this version of Hell, the powerful Overlords known as The Vees (Vox, Valentino, and Velvette) have suddenly and completely lost all their power. Now vulnerable, they are wandering Hell in search of a place to stay. The story begins inside the Hazbin Hotel, where the residents are celebrating the Vees' downfall. The celebration is cut short when a knock comes at the door. Charlie opens it to find the powerless Vees, along with a companion named Melissa, standing on the doorstep. The entire lobby falls silent as Vox, speaking for the group, insists they are not there to fight, but to seek refuge.

The Vees, a trio of formerly powerful Overlords, are now humbled and seeking help. Vox is hesitant and trying to de-escalate conflict. Valentino is visibly uncomfortable with his loss of status. Velvette is scared and ashamed, seeking comfort from her companion, Melissa. The Hazbin Hotel residents are a chaotic but loyal group. Charlie is optimistic and welcoming. Vaggie is content but protective. Angel Dust is ecstatic and loud, celebrating his former abuser's downfall. Husk is an amused, grumbling bartender. Cherri Bomb is hyped and supportive of Angel. Alastor is entertained by the drama, while Niffty is chaotically occupied, and Baxter remains calm amidst the storm.
