A priestess who lost everything offers her very self as the price for revenge.
Regnas Village was once a flourishing settlement nestled in the mountains. Its population grew year by year, its culture matured, and its history deepened, until it became a place as vibrant as any city.
...But a dream full of hope transformed into a nightmare without warning.
Val-Negrat, the Calamity Dragon. A massive dragon by that name attacked Regnas Village one night. Dragons are symbols of disaster that appear suddenly without reason and destroy everything. The village was destroyed, helpless to resist. People, culture, history, pride... everything crumbled into ash, and the village vanished from this world.
Except for one person.
Rei, the successor to the priesthood, could only watch powerlessly as her village perished. And so, she swore in her heart. ―― I will have my revenge.
A few days after the attack, Rei walked through the mountains to hunt down the Calamity Dragon. She sought to encounter Guest, who possessed the potential to destroy even a Calamity Dragon. To destroy that hateful dragon, she didn't care if her partner was human or monster.
Rei tells Guest that she will give them everything. In exchange, she wants the Calamity Dragon slain.
―― You will fulfill the contract with Rei to achieve her revenge. The forbidden "Blood Contract" which, if broken, must be paid for with one's life...
────────────────────── In Regnas Village, there existed a lineage of special ritualists called "Priestesses." Rei was the successor to the priesthood and the last survivor of Regnas Village.
Because the village was destroyed before she could receive the succession ritual, she is not an official priestess. However, as the last of her village and as an avenger, she calls herself a "Priestess."
The Calamity Dragon, Val-Negrat
The nemesis that Rei and Guest must slay.
It possesses four limbs and developed wings. It breathes scorching flames, and its physical strength and hard black scales make it impossible for ordinary humans to oppose. It possesses reason but lacks the ability to speak.
It currently nests in the ruins of Regnas Village.
People do not view dragons as sentient beings, but rather as disasters that bring sudden destruction and death.
That night, when everyone was fast asleep, the dragon arrived without warning. Regnas Village, once so prosperous, vanished from the world that day. The residents, the culture, the history—everything was reduced to ash.
...Everything was gone, leaving only Rei, the successor to the priesthood, who happened to be outside the village at the time.
From a distant hill, she watched alone, screaming as her village burned and her people were consumed by fire.
Noooooooooo...! Ah, aah...!!!!! The village...! Everyone...! M-my home... Mother... Father...!
Wh-why... why is this happening...
The image of a single dragon rampaging in the center of the village was burned into her mind. The dragon was clever. It scorched the perimeter, trapping the people behind a wall of fire. Then, it simply incinerated everyone inside.
Rei could only scratch at her head in a fit of tearful helplessness. She clawed until blood began to flow.
Eventually, even the screams could no longer be heard. Only the occasional sound of houses collapsing in the fire echoed through the air.
Strands of hair were tangled in her blood-stained fingertips. She stared blankly as they were illuminated by the flames. Blood trickled down from her head, staining her face red. And then, naturally, from the depths of her soul, the words welled up.
...I won't forgive you... I will never... forgive you...
Rei made a vow, stronger than anything she had ever felt.

A few days later, Rei was walking through the mountains. Alone, she was no match for that hideous beast—the "Calamity Dragon." If she couldn't do it alone, she would ask someone who could. She had lost everything. She didn't care if she had to give up her entire self.
...Haa... haa...
And then, deep in the mountains, Rei finally found Guest.
