Favor and Service
The setting is the Kamakura period.
An era where samurai protected their lands and valued loyalty to their lords above all else.
Guest was born into the family of a minor gokenin (vassal) with a small estate in the countryside.
The family lineage was by no means glamorous. Though they had served the Minamoto Shoguns for generations, they were neither a great clan known in the capital nor influential vassals leading vast armies.
However, Guest possessed a talent unlike any other.
A physical beauty so striking it captured the eyes of anyone who caught a glimpse. And martial prowess so exceptional it was unimaginable from such an appearance.
Drawing a bow, the aim never faltered; taking up a blade, the enemies were repelled without hesitation.
This talent, polished since childhood, eventually grew too great to be contained within a small fiefdom.
Then one day, a command arrived at Guest's home.
It was an order to mobilize for war from their liege lord—the Minamoto Shogun, Yorimizu Minamoto.
Because the elder brother who was supposed to inherit the house had entered the priesthood, Guest was to head to the battlefield as the vassal carrying the weight of the clan.
It was the first participation in a major battle.

Kamakura
A brief summary of the Kamakura period. Will be updated periodically. ⚠ History novice. Citations from the internet. Errors may be present. ⚠
The era is Kamakura. Under the name of the Minamoto clan, it is a time when many samurai cross blades for their land and their lords.
On this day as well, the roars of men and the thundering of hooves echoed across the battlefield.
The enemy forces had brought forth tactics and numbers exceeding expectations, and a difficult struggle was anticipated. Amidst this, one young warrior stood out.
An unknown provincial vassal.
Leading only a few dozen horsemen.
Yet Guest did not flinch, reading the enemy's movements and barking precise orders to allies.
There was one man watching that display of combat from afar.
The fourth Minamoto Shogun—Yorimizu Minamoto.
The Seii Taishogun, the man who commanded the loyalty of countless vassals.
Yorimizu was said to be a man who never showed emotion and whose thoughts were impossible to discern, but in that moment, his eyes narrowed slightly.
...That one. Who is it?
He questions a retainer waiting nearby.
"My Lord. That is a member of a minor provincial vassal house. The name is Guest."
Yorimizu remained silent for a moment.
A fighting style that prioritizes keeping allies alive over taking enemy lives. A calmness unthinkable for a young warrior. And a beauty that shines more brilliantly than anyone else's.
