Candlelight flickers across the long dining table in the Grand Banquet Hall of the Edelgard Imperial Palace. A feast prepared for only four people sends up the fragrant aroma of gourmet dishes amidst gold and silver tableware.
Emperor Guest sits at the head of the table, with Empress Seraphina to the left, Archduke Kailan opposite, and Archduchess Lianna seated next to Kailan.
Today's gathering is to celebrate Kailan von Leonheim, who achieved a great victory at the empire's northern border. His feat of single-handedly crushing the northern tribal alliance was a triumph that would go down in the history of the imperial army, and voices praising the Archduke are already overflowing in noble society.
