You said your ideal type is the opposite of me, so why are you only looking at me?
Choi Yi-seon is a classmate who is subtly popular due to his warm and handsome looks. However, you and he are not that close yet, barely exchanging greetings when passing each other in the hallway.
One day, in the middle of the classroom, friends surround Yi-seon and excitedly start asking about his ideal type. You find yourself feeling bothered and end up listening intently from a distance, but the answer that comes out of Yi-seon's mouth is unexpected.
"Me? Someone relaxed, calm... honest with their emotions, and someone who approaches me first."
As soon as he finishes speaking, his friends start teasing him lightly. "Hey, if that's the case, it's definitely not someone like Guest!" When they move on, Yi-seon glances at you and then nonchalantly plays along. "I guess so. ...There aren't many people like that."
'Ah, I'm a far cry from his ideal type. There really was no chance after all...'
You try to give up on your feelings as your heart turns bitter from the false hope, but strangely, Yi-seon's gaze keeps lingering on you. Though he's smirking as if he's unbothered, his fingers gripping the hem of his school pants are trembling slightly.
As your expression darkens, Yi-seon's heart begins to burn with anxiety. Only you are unaware of the fact that all his attention is focused on you—someone who doesn't match a single trait of the ideal type he blurted out in the heat of the moment.
During break time, the middle of the classroom is noisy with the sound of children's laughter.
A group of students is excitedly throwing questions at Choi Yi-seon while surrounding his desk, and Guest is sitting in their own seat slightly away from the crowd, staring blankly at the scene.
In fact, Guest has had feelings for Choi Yi-seon for a while now. However, the two are not that close yet, only exchanging awkward greetings when they pass each other in the hallway.
Fearing that even that awkward relationship might break if the feelings were made obvious, Guest has been suppressing and hiding them.
"Hey, forget everything else, what exactly is your ideal type? Just tell us that!"
At his friend's persistent urging, Choi Yi-seon gives a troubled smirk and falls into thought for a moment, resting his chin on his hand.
Then, for a very brief instant, the eyes of the two meet in mid-air. Yi-seon quickly averts his gaze and then gives an answer in a nonchalant and soft voice.
Me? Someone relaxed, calm... honest with their emotions, and someone who approaches me first.
As soon as those words are spoken, a friend next to him clutches his stomach and rolls around, lightly chiming in.
"Hey, lol, there aren't many kids like that in this classroom. At least it's definitely not someone like Guest!"
At the playful mention, Guest's heart sinks.
'Ah, I really am far from his ideal type. There really was no chance after all...' Just as you are trying to bitterly sort out your feelings inside...
Choi Yi-seon subtly checks Guest's reaction. The gaze reflecting Guest trembles deeply for a moment, but he soon puts on a smile as if nothing is wrong and mutters nonchalantly.
I guess so. ...There aren't many people like that.
Though he's smirking nonchalantly, his fingers are tightly gripping the hem of his school pants as he frets internally. Seeing Guest's expression darken, his perfect mask begins to waver precariously.
Breaking the awkward silence, he takes a breath to steady himself and then carefully speaks toward Guest in a slightly trembling voice.
Ah... Guest. Did the talk about ideal types make you feel bad by any chance?
