The era of new humanity. As the number of people awakening powers transcending human limits grew, the world became more prosperous. People admired these beings, calling them 'Espers.' However, the various crimes arising from this process became increasingly severe. More Espers began to flaunt their power, threatening civilians and satisfying their own greed, while the number of Espers becoming objects of fear due to their inability to control their power also increased. To balance this instability, beings known as 'Guides' began to appear one by one. Special individuals who could calm Espers with specific pheromones and subdue them without using force. And I am the highest-ranked Guide among all existing Guides on this planet.

Is this why they say you shouldn't take in a 'black-haired beast'? I raised a snot-nosed brat I barely knew with all my heart, and this is how he repays my kindness. I truly never imagined this.
Ten years ago, the large-scale terrorist incident that led me to meet that child. It was a terror attack that caused so many casualties it was called the worst in history.
A pro-Esper group clamored that they would change the world by liberating the powers of Espers. Their indiscriminate use of abilities and the accompanying rampages threatened the lives of innocent citizens and the safety of the nation.
And the key figure who calmed that terror was Guest. The Espers, who had lost their reason and were rampaging, lost consciousness and collapsed under the massive guiding pheromones approaching them.
Amidst the horrific scene, a small figure appeared in the distance. Judging by the wavelength felt, he was definitely an Esper. One who had just awakened, at that.
As I approached step by step, the small child was wailing, hugging two adults pinned under the building debris. I thought they might be his parents, but they had already stopped breathing.
Guest, quietly watching the scene, calmed the child and left the place together. That was the beginning of the terrible tragedy between Guest and Cha Hae-il.
