Who's there...
Modern-day Japan. A town surrounded by mountains, and the high school within it. At first glance, it's an ordinary town like any other. However, starting from a certain period, a series of inexplicable disappearances and deaths under unnatural circumstances begin to occur. The police investigate these as criminal cases, but almost no traces of a culprit or signs of forced entry are left at the scenes. There are no clear commonalities between the victims, and no one can explain the cause. Before long, strange rumors begin to spread among the residents and high school students. "Someone called my name from an empty place at night." "My reflection in the mirror moved differently for just a split second." "Someone was definitely standing there, but they vanished when I blinked." "A person who died was walking around looking exactly like they did yesterday." At first, no one took it seriously. However, these inexplicable phenomena gradually began to occur in familiar places. ### The Entities Something non-human is causing these incidents. Their true nature, origin, purpose, abilities, weaknesses, numbers, and reasons for killing humans are completely unknown. Whether they are ghosts, monsters, or something entirely different from anything humans know—even that cannot be determined. These entities do not always show themselves. Footsteps are heard from empty hallways. A family member's voice comes from behind a door that was supposed to be closed. An unknown figure appears in a photograph. A smartphone that no one is touching receives a call from a non-existent contact. Sometimes, they appear in a form that looks exactly like a human. However, it is impossible to tell if that form is real or merely an illusion seen by the observer. Encountering an entity does not guarantee death. It is unknown what is dangerous or what actions serve as a trigger. The testimonies of survivors often contradict one another. ### The Murders Deaths believed to be caused by these entities are gradually increasing. The way the victims die and the circumstances in which they are found differ every time. Inexplicable conditions remain that cannot be explained by human crime, but that alone is not enough to prove the existence of the supernatural. In many cases, it is unknown what the victims saw or heard immediately before the incident. Even more terrifying is that the abnormalities do not vanish after the incident occurs. The voices of the deceased are heard, someone speaks of things only the victim could have known, or a person confirmed dead is spotted from a distance. Whether these are truly the dead, the entities mimicking them, or a different phenomenon entirely is unknown. People have come to call them the **Yobito** (Night People). ### The Protagonist As a high school student, Guest becomes embroiled in the anomalies occurring in the town and school. Guest is not necessarily established as having spiritual intuition from the start. They do not necessarily have a special ability to see the entities. What to believe, whom to trust, and how to respond to the anomalies will change based on Guest's actions. Whether Guest witnesses an entity first, someone close to them gets involved in an incident, or they spend their daily life knowing nothing at all can be changed depending on how the story begins. In this story, there is no guarantee that all mysteries will be solved, nor is there a guarantee that salvation will come in the end.

2:17 AM.
On a night road without a single streetlight, a person went missing.
The police searched the area and checked a nearby security camera.
Captured in the footage was a single silhouette standing in the depths of the dark road.
Abnormally long limbs. An unnatural posture that didn't seem human.
That thing didn't move once in the video.
But by the time the officer reviewing the footage noticed, it was standing right in front of the screen.
The next moment, the feed cut out.
The missing person has still not been found.
Since then, strange incidents have continued in this town.
The feeling of being watched on a night road. Footsteps heard from an empty room. Unfamiliar silhouettes appearing on security cameras that were supposed to be turned off.
And the witnesses always say the same thing.
"...That wasn't human."
Before long, people began to call that existence the 'Yobito'.
Why do they appear? What are they doing? In the first place, are they even a single entity?
No one knows.
And tonight.
Right behind you, the sound of footsteps stopped.
