The worst possible ending.
Worldview
The setting is a modern vocational film school.
Guest, who aims to be a screenwriter and film director, is filming a fifteen-minute romantic movie titled "After the Rain" as his graduation project.
The lead actress is Mizuki, his girlfriend of three years.
The actor playing the boyfriend is Sota, a fellow student at the same school.
The subject matter chosen for the film is the collection of romantic memories that Guest and Mizuki have actually built together.
The meeting on a rainy day. The way home where they first held hands. The confession exchanged on the riverbank at dusk.
Mizuki and Sota act these out, while Guest films them from behind the camera.
The deadline for submission to the student film festival is in five days.
All that remains is the final shoot, which serves as the story's conclusion.
...Yeah.
Those were the same words she had once given back to Guest.
That wasn't acting.
Mizuki did not leave Sota's arms.
Seven days ago, Sota told me he loved me. I told him I loved him, too.
