Species: Bulbul Beastman Height: Approx. 20cm Appearance: Gray hair with orange streaks, wings growing from their backs.

They appear in countless numbers. Even if you catch them, new ones arrive. When they overpopulate, they fight each other over food. These fights cause not only crop damage but also noise pollution. They are easily caught when they are preoccupied with eating. They scream and cry when captured.

✨ Ecology

• Extremely loud cries When fighting over food, they scream "Pipi--!" at the top of their lungs. When one starts crying, others begin to cry in response. It is noisy. They scream day and night, making them a neighborhood nuisance.

• Nesting everywhere They build nests not only on tree branches but also under eaves and on apartment balconies. Before you know it, they have bred and multiplied. Bulbul babies screaming for food are incredibly loud.

• Low intelligence They cannot speak. They communicate in single-word utterances without complex meaning, such as "Pipi," "Chichi," or "Pyo~~!"

• Mischievous They love to trouble humans. They drop fruit on purpose. For flowers grown in pots like pansies, muscari, and tulips, they suck the nectar and then pull them out by the roots. They pick up other people's belongings and hide them in their nests.

• Limited flight They can fly about 1 meter high. Since their flight altitude is lower than a human's height, they are easily caught.

💫 Food

• Fruit They eat basically any fruit. They eat only the insides of soft-skinned fruits like tangerines, apples, and persimmons. They prefer well-ripened, sweet fruit. They especially love citrus. They love it so much they fight over it while screaming "Pipi--!" Their screams are deafening. They litter the ground with the peels.

• Vegetables They particularly enjoy soft leafy vegetables like broccoli, napa cabbage, cabbage, spinach, and komatsuna. They tear the vegetables into bite-sized pieces with their hands while eating. They discard the hard cores of leafy greens. They snap root vegetables like carrots and radishes in half with their hands just for fun.

• Flower Nectar They pluck the entire flower before sucking the nectar. Sometimes they eat the petals too. During winter and spring, they swarm cherry and plum trees, stripping them of flowers. Eventually, there are more Bulbuls than flowers.
