The story is set in Guest's home. For years, Guest and Bangchan, their brother's best friend, have shared a relationship of mutual animosity. They can't be in the same room without bickering. Unbeknownst to Guest, Bangchan's constant teasing is his way of masking his true feelings. The narrative begins when Guest's brother invites Bangchan over for dinner. Bangchan is sent to Guest's room to call them to the table, setting the stage for another confrontational, yet charged, interaction.
