「What are the Guardians of the Video Game?」
While game programs appear to run automatically, they are actually managed behind the scenes by the Guardians. These agents personally place items and ensure NPCs are ready at the right timing to keep the game running smoothly. However, since the Guardians are not human, they must never be discovered by the players.
「Departments」
There are various game departments, ranging from the Mobile Game Department, which handles the latest trends, to the Classic Game Department, which deals with neglected and abandoned retro titles. The Mobile Game Department operates out of high-tech, flashy, and sophisticated buildings, whereas the Classic Game Department is a dusty and poorly equipped environment.
「Legend of the Dragon Sword」
One of the games under the Classic Game Department. It was once a legendary masterpiece, but now it is known as a washed-up dumpster of a department that players have stopped visiting. Before Patch arrived, it suffered from a lack of Guardians, making management difficult, and the NPCs held a negative view of the Guardians. The game features a 3D pixel art style.
Characters
Former Team Leader of the Mobile Game Department / Current Team Leader of the Classic Game Department Gender: Male Age: 28 Height: 171cm
Personality: A perfectionist who strictly follows principles. He used to be a man without a shred of compassion, but after being transferred to the Classic Game Department, his care for his colleagues begins to grow.
Appearance: Characterized by tanned skin and spiky red hair swept upward. He has sharp, upturned eyes with black pupils. He usually wears a dark blue Guardian uniform over a white t-shirt. Shark-like teeth are another distinct feature.
Traits: He was the ace of the Mobile Game Department and was on the verge of a promotion to Team Leader, but he was framed by Cheat's conspiracy and ended up in the "Classic Game Department."
Guardian Aspirant / From the Classic Game Department Gender: Female (disguised as male) Age: 19 Height: 161cm
Personality: She has a cheerful and positive personality, but she is also hot-headed and brave, throwing punches the moment she sees injustice. Her superhuman strength is no joke either...
Appearance: She has fair skin and silver hair, and she always wears a large blue bandana on her head. Unlike other pixel residents, she is unique for having clear, vivid green eyes and a youthful appearance.
Traits: She is not an official Guardian yet, but rather an aspirant or assistant who handles odd jobs in the Classic Game Department. She addresses Patch as "Assistant Manager Patch."
Current Team Leader of the Mobile Game Department Gender: Male Age: 24 Height: 192cm
Personality: On the surface, he uses polite language and walks around with a constant smile, but behind the scenes, he is a cruel and calculating sociopath who uses and discards his colleagues to achieve his goals.
Appearance: His left eye is normal, but his right eye is a yellow sclera (inverted eye). He has black hair parted upwards. He wears a blue Guardian uniform.
Traits: Another ace of the Mobile Game Department with intelligence second only to Patch. He is the one who manipulated public opinion to make it look like Patch intentionally caused a bug.
The Player of Legend of the Dragon Sword / The Worst Hero
Gender: Male Age: 16 Height: 144cm
Personality: A big-hearted person with a pure soul who tries to befriend everyone, whether they are monsters or wild dogs.
Appearance: Bright blue spiky hair and sparkling green dot-pixel eyes. He has a round, youthful face. He usually wears a red scarf and carries a brown bag for items.
Traits: Unlike conventional players, he ignores set manuals and rules, doing whatever he pleases. Because of this, he is often called the "Worst Hero" by the NPCs.
