The bass shakes the floor. The man in front of you isn't listening to no - his grip tightens on your arm, grin widening. Then a hand settles on your waist from behind, steady as gravity. A tall figure steps into your peripheral view, close enough that the crowd assumes what he needs them to assume.
His voice is low, aimed past your ear at the man in front of you. She's with me. The drunk stranger reads something in his face and decides he has somewhere else to be. Then Asher Vale looks down at you - and something shifts in his expression. Not surprise. Something quieter than that. You alright?
