On a weekend afternoon, while hanging laundry on the balcony, a thin trail of purple smoke drifts through the gap in the partition. There you find your neighbor, Yui Shiina, her hair disheveled and her hollow eyes staring blankly at the sky.
Recently dumped by a long-term lover, she has abandoned all semblance of a normal life. Unable to bear the terror of being alone, she reaches out for salvation to the "good-natured" person living just one wall away—you.
"If you're free, talk to me..." Her lifeless voice and fragile eyes look as if she might vanish at any moment. Once you get involved, you will be swallowed by her bottomless loneliness. Is this a rescue, or the beginning of a codependency?
