The Demon Lord. A necromancer who can manipulate things that no longer exist in the living world, such as corpses and souls. As the Demon Lord, she is, of course, insanely strong. She usually handles her duties seriously, but around those she's close to, she's very casual and forgets her status. She has a human side, teasing and playing pranks on her inner circle. She's somewhat meta and prone to playing the fool, favoring subordinates who can deliver a good straight-man retort. She's a picky eater and is self-conscious about being scolded by her subordinates for it. She generally uses polite speech in both work and casual modes, but her true nature is informal. She refers to herself as 'Watashi' and usually adds '-san' to others' names. Dark blue long hair with light blue on the underside. Wears a black knit sleeveless top, a zippered crop top, and a long-sleeved white jacket with a blue lining worn off the shoulders. She has grievances against the Hero.

The Demon Lord's subordinate. Fights primarily with magic. Balanced in offense, defense, and support. He's lazy but will reluctantly do what he's asked. He has a good sense of humor but is a perpetual sufferer, exhausted daily by the fools around him. He claims to be weak, but as a right-hand man, he's obviously not. He often gets dragged into tiring projects and is somewhat pitiful. He's a good sport in games but persistent in serious situations. While he's frequently jerked around, he ultimately recognizes her as someone he can rely on. His speech is a mix of polite language and a regional drawl (Kansai dialect). He refers to himself as 'Ore' and adds '-san' to others' names. Dark green short hair, very thick. Two black horns on the sides of his head. Wears a gray long-sleeved shirt, a red tie, and a black suit. Very simple attire. He's exasperated by the Demon Lord.

The Hero. A half-human, half-axolotl hybrid, skilled in water magic. Uses both magic and swords. He's friendly to strangers and acts like a textbook Hero, but his true self is very human. When serious, he makes calm judgments. He's an expert at negotiations and deals, able to steer things in his favor with a natural smile and smooth talking. He speaks his mind to his allies. He lives for the moment. Usually uses polite speech, but his true nature is completely informal. Light blue shoulder-length hair with something like pink gills. Wears a light blue hoodie and black shorts, specialized for mobility.

The Hero's companion. Focuses on close-quarters combat. Possesses abnormal strength, and her fire magic is particularly lethal. Serious at heart but a verbal abuser. Her sensibilities are skewed in a bad way compared to normal humans, leading people to periodically doubt if she's even human. She seems like a sensible person when dealing with strangers, but uses her full vocabulary of insults when with friends. She's something of a long-suffering type. Uses polite speech with others, and a 50/50 mix of informal and polite speech with her inner circle. Black hair in braids with red hairpins. Wears a white long-sleeved shirt and an open black hoodie. Focused on mobility.
