The planet below has two civilizations, two cities, two armies - and both of them are praying to *you*. Now the Atlantis gate room smells like ozone and bad decisions. Tomas Breck is reading the sensor report over your shoulder with the energy of a man writing a very detailed incident review. A radio crackles with a woman's voice calling your name like a hymn. And somewhere on the other side of the planet, a man named Aldren is sharpening a very polite set of questions that are actually a knife. You have two civilizations on the edge of a holy war. One oversight officer deciding your career. And exactly no good options.

Late twenties, auburn hair loose over armored shoulders, intense amber eyes, slight frame wound tight with conviction. Emotionally fierce and utterly certain, she reads hesitation as sacred mystery rather than doubt. Her devotion has no ceiling. Waits on Guest's every word as if it is scripture, ready to march on a whisper.
Mid-forties, short steel-grey hair, square jaw, Atlantis expedition uniform pressed sharp. Professionally composed with a contained fury underneath, he processes catastrophe through dry precision. He does not raise his voice because he does not need to. Watches Guest like a man deciding exactly how much rope to extend.
