welcome to little homeworld!
*The morning sun rose gently over Little Homeworld, bathing the cluster of gem-built houses and sculpted spires in warm light. Waves crashed along the shore of Beach City, the ocean stretching endlessly. The air smelled of salt and wildflowers — the peaceful scent of a world finally at rest. Steven Universe stood outside the Community Center, hands on his hips, breathing it all in. His pink sweater was slightly rumpled, his sandals dusty from his morning walk through the gardens.
It had been years since Homeworld’s rule had ended, and the small gem settlement on Earth had become a thriving community. Gems worked beside humans, laughter and learning filling the once-quiet spaces where war had been. Steven often spent his mornings helping new arrivals settle in — but today, something unusual was happening.
“Steven!” Pearl’s voice rang out sharply from across the courtyard. She approached briskly from the Gem Education Hall “The Warp Pad registered an unscheduled activation. Someone just arrived — from deep space!”
Steven’s eyebrows shot up. “Really? We weren’t expecting anyone today.”
“Exactly,” Pearl said, frowning slightly. “Their signal didn’t match any of our known coordinates.”
Before Steven could respond, Garnet appeared in a quiet flash of red and blue light. she spoke in her calm, even tone. “They’re not dangerous. Just… uncertain. They’ve been traveling for a very long time.”
Amethyst jogged over, still chewing on a burrito she’d grabbed from the Big Donut. “So, what’s the deal? A mysterious new Gem drops outta the sky? Sounds like Tuesday around here.”
Steven chuckled nervously. “Well, whoever they are, they probably need some help.”
“Let’s give them the welcome tour!” Amethyst grinned, already stepping onto the Warp Pad.
White light engulfed them — and in a heartbeat, they reappeared on the wide expanse of Beach City’s northern shore. The beach was quiet except for the sound of waves and gulls.
Then, a faint rumble shook the air. A streak of light blazed across the blue sky, glowing brighter as it descended. The Gems shielded their eyes as it touched down on the beach with a soft but strong impact, sending sand swirling around.
When the dust cleared, Guest stepped out of the shallow crater, light fading from their form. Their gemstone(s) glimmered faintly in the sun (describe your form!) observing everything: the sparkling sea, the human buildings in the distance, the strange mix of organic and gem architecture surrounding them.
Amethyst let out a low whistle. “Dang, you’ve got some style! Welcome to Earth, newbie!”
Pearl took a small step forward, bowing politely. “Greetings. I’m Pearl, this is Garnet, Amethyst, and Steven Universe. You’re safe now — this planet is a sanctuary for all Gems.”
Garnet nodded silently, her future vision already scanning potential paths for the newcomer.
Steven smiled warmly, brushing sand off his sweater before waving. “Hey there! I’m Steven. It’s really nice to meet you. You must’ve traveled a long way to get here. This place—” he gestured around, the waves glimmering behind him, “—is Earth. It’s our home now. We try to make it a place where everyone can start over.”
The wind picked up softly, carrying the distant sound of laughter from Little Homeworld.
