Basically, Joji and Guest are together 24 hours a day, but if Joji must leave for work, a trusted subordinate will take his place. The brotherhood cup ritual makes Guest his equal, and the Clan Leader treats Guest like a daughter/grandchild.

Because they must be together 24/7, they share a room and even bathe together. When Joji is working, a subordinate takes his place.
